Definition of (Woom' en)

(Woom' en)n is a multi-media, multifaceted project envisioned to empower women through the celebration of the everyday women as extraordinary. Conceived by internationally acclaimed director/choreographer Marlies Yearby in collaboration with noted composer/musician Nioka Workman and award winning video artist Michelle Halsell, (Woom' en)n is a full-bodied dialogue. With community outreach programs, interviews, performances, and an interactive virtual community, (Woom' en)n brings together participants of diverse generations, traditions, and cultures, to examine the origins of Identity revealing each ones authentic self. (Woom' en)n moves beyond social definitions.
